Discover the catalog
The core dedicated to MEDIEVAL SCULPTURE (Medieval Art section) has been cataloged on the basis of a project conducted according to rigorous scientific criteria, in collaboration with the Zeri Foundation of Bologna and with the company IDS&Unitelm. This model will be used to catalog all the remaining photographic heritage preserved at the Ragghianti Foundation, with the exception of ITALIAN SECC ART. XIX-XX, in consideration of the particularity of the fund.
Each image has been cataloged via two different cards: the OA card (work of art) relating to the photographed work and the F card (photograph) relating to the good as a photographic object. The verse of the images has been published if information such as annotations, stamps, etc. are present. The search can be free or by fields:

Contemporary Art
His aim, in line with the "see, and then read (if you still want to)" method, was to create a photo library not only for specialists, but for a large audience, for educational purposes (FR, ACLR, Carteggio generale, f. Lanzillo Grazia, letter from Ragghianti to Lanzillo, January the 18th 1982).
For this reason, we have chosen to write the information on the back of the cards in a conservative way, with no additions or updates.
The information relating to the Contemporary Art repertoire (author, title of the photographed work, location) is therefore deduced from the label applied on the back of the cardboard on which the photographic or photomechanical print is glued, or from any handwritten notes.
For this reason, some information may not be in line with the results of the most updated historiographic research.
Medieval art
The first one contains information relating to the work of art depicted, in accordance with the standard of the OA Form, in the second one, data referring to the photographic object, according to the standard F 4.0 inventory level.
The filing have been adapted according to the type of Carlo Ludovico Ragghianti's photo library and the peculiarities of the materials inside.
The data entered in the filing are the result of a careful bibliographic research and recognition of photographic techniques.
